Trans Fats
Trans fats can be found in the following foods:
- Hard magarines
- Soft magarines
- Mass-produced baked goods
- Fish and chips
There are emerging evidence that diet high in trans fats can not only raise the level of bad cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL) but also lower the levels of the good cholesterol, high density lipoprotein (HDL). It is the only types of fat has this effect to our body.
It is recommended that we reduce the intake of
trans fats to less than 2% of total fats eaten. It may be wise
to limit the consumption of trans fats further.
